One of the benefits of being a Toronto based band is the convenience of endless performance spaces. Whether they’re scattered across the Danforth, cloistered on Queen West or up and down the Ossington strip, Toronto bands have plenty of accessible options of potential gig spaces.
Unfortunately for Dave Fontaine, the lead singer of Souls, living in Toronto is exactly the opposite of convenient.
Fontaine and Souls co-founder Trevor Speechly are the only two members of the aggressive folk-rock sextet that reside in Toronto. While the two grew up and formed a musical history together on the St. Catharines-Niagara region music scene they found themselves headed towards Toronto to continue their educations at Humber College.
